Shirley Jacksons short story, The Lottery, ironically gives the drafting a evil meaning. The draught in this story is used for a familiar stoning, contrary to the first thing that comes to a commentators mind when they judge of winning the lottery; a big sum of mvirtuosoy. Another piece of foreshadowing is when Bobby and rag Jones and Dickie... eventually made a great pile of stones in one corner of the square..., which hints at the impending doom of the lottery winner. The only place where setting is a factor is the beginning, because the setting stays the same, and the environment does not change in the twain hours that the story took place in.

This is a well indite essay on what is arguably Shirley Jacksons virtually famous story. The Lottery is a compelling account of the advocator of myth and the grip it can have on our lives. As much as we claim to value life, we may value our pet notions and rituals even more. Its easy to criticize ancient people for their tribal superstitions, but some of our own beliefs may as well as be grounded in superstition, though we may not sop up why we cling to them so stubbornly.
Sharing a congregation mentality may make us feel comfortable, but it is no guarantee of the validity of our beliefs. Your report was interesting and convincing. headspring done!
A couple of criticisms, if I may. First, you repeated the phrase the characters thoughts are not revealed.
Second, I think the story is more about how people will follow along blindly with what the throng says and does without questioning the reasons than it is about scapegoating. If you analyse this story again in college (and you may very well, its very popular with college English teachers), you may want to take a closer look at the parts of the story where it hints at parts of the ritual being lost, (you did do this a little in this essay, but I think it needs to be examined in more detail).
Also, Id dally you a dollar to a donut that your teacher set out a formula she wanted followed in the papers, and doing anything international of the way she wanted it written would result in a bad grade, even if the paper was insightful and well written (I had a teacher like that in high school.)
suppose the story again... and again. You get more out of it with repeated readings, adopt little details that make it creepier every time you read it.
