south-polara is the cold-bloodedest continent on earth and no indigenous people have ever lived there. The first tourists visited Antarctica in 1958 and this started to cause a grass of problems. There are many issues concerning the development of Antarctica - bingle of the issues is the presence of people in Antarctica.
After the explorers expeditions through Antarctica, a lot of scientists set up bases at Antarctica to do some scientific interrogation on Antarctica - this disrupted the environment: making enduring damages to nature.
In December 1959, an Antarctic Treaty was formed. The treaty tells us that:
* Antarctica is to be used for peaceful purposes only which means that no military activities are allowed.
* Researchers are allowed to do scientific research in Antarctica.

5/ One of the biggest icebergs ever (possibly the biggest iceberg ever) broke tolerant from the Ross ice shelf in Antarctica in 2000.
It was 295km (183 miles) long and 37km (23 miles) wide, with a surface area of 11,000 sq km (4,250 square miles) above peeing - and 10 times bigger below. Its similar in size of it to The Gambia, Qatar, The Bahamas, or Connecticut.
8/ A domestic deep icing runs at about -20°C. The mean summer temperature on the majuscule East Antarctica icecap is -30°C and mean winter temperature close to -60°C. Thats a lot colder than your freezer!
The lowest ever temperature record was at the Russian Vostok station. It was - 89.6°C
9/ When the Antarctic sea-ice begins to expand at the beginning of winter, it advances by around 40,000 square miles (100,000 square kilometres) per day, and at long last doubles the size of Antarctica, adding up to an extra 20 million square kilometres of ice around the land mass.
Thats one and a half USAs, two Australias or 50 UKs worth of ice area that forms, then breaks up and melts each year.
